Women's Health and Nutrition: Make Healthy Nutrition a High Priority
Save Your Life from the Inside Out
Change Your Diet by Adding Delicious Food
What if you could transform your life, your health and even your bank balance by adding food (yes, adding, not subtracting)? Transform your life by changing your diet. Start by adding food that you are attracted to and tastes good to you. Pick these foods to add by following some very simple guidelines. Choose to eat fruit and veggies. It's easier than you think! These days we have access to a truly amazing variety of fruits and vegetables every day of the week. At our local grocery stores and local markets, at our farmers' markets and at seasonal roadside stands--there has seldom been such a variety of fruit and veggies to choose from. Make it a commitment--or make it a game--and see the difference it makes. Once you add a variety of fruit and vegetables to your diet, they may even begin to crowd out some of the other foods you habitually choose when you are hungry. But don't start with denying yourself treats--just add these additional treats and appreciate the benefits for your body. Change one white food you eat to brown! We've heard that whole grains are good for us, but have you added whole grains to your daily diet? Start now by changing one white food you eat to brown by adding brown rice to substitute for white one day a week. Or, add a good whole wheat bread (at least 3 grams of fiber per slice--check the label)as your morning toast. Enjoy the nutty, satisfying flavor of whole grain. Don't forget beans! Already a chili eater? That's great! How about one additional bean dish per week? Baked beans? Beans in the soup pot? Beans in your salad? You'll easily find a bean recipe that you will enjoy adding to your weekly menu.
Drink More Water
Are you one of the rare people who drinks enough water?Water is a fundamental support for our body. Every one of our cells is primarily built from water and cleansed by water. Water washes through us supplying nutrients and aiding our organs to cleanse our bodies of the waste products of daily cell building. Rather than trying to take away whatever you current drink during the day--your colas, coffee, tea and energy drinks--add water. The best time to add a long, cool drink of water is morning, noon and night. Begin by drinking a glass of water a few minutes before a meal. In the morning, use a glass of water to take your supplements. Drink just before lunch and then again before dinner. If you think you drink enough already, think again. I challenge you to an experiment: for every glass of water you drink, pour an equal amount into a measuring jug and see how many ounces a day you actually drink now. Is it enough?
Supplement with Proven Benefits: Look Younger and Feel Better
Supplement your daily diet to feel younger and healthier.Even if you eat add all of the delicious and healthful choices--fruit and veggies, whole grains and beans, fresh water--you will not be able to get all the healthful and healing nutrients your body needs daily. A recent study by UC Berkeley demonstrated that supplementing your diet with vitamin and mineral supplements could be highly beneficial to living healthier lives and living longer (while feeling better)--but not all supplements and brands were helpful. Some even proved to be harmful. Choose supplements wisely and don't try to save money by buying the cheapest. Ultimately you will pay the price by paying future medical bills. Find a company or two that manufacture supplements in safety and guarantee the purity and potency of each ingredient in their supplements.
