As women, our health and fitness choices determine our quality of life at every age and stage of our lives. Every choice we make about our health and fitness in the present is vitally important to the quality of our lives in the days, months and years that follow.

I remember my past feelings about my everyday life vividly: dragging myself out of bed in the morning dreading the work day ahead, always having a long list of "I should really...", a shelf full of self-help books and too little time and too much guilt.
I had days and weeks like this in my teens, my twenties, thirties, forties and even into my early fifties. Dragging my feet into the next twenty years of my life without making the health and fitness choices that would provide the energy and health I needed to get through the week in front of me.

I tried to get help from my doctors. I've had some good doctors and some, well, some not so satisfactory, from my point of view. Trying harder to change habits or using prescription medications have been frequent suggestions as solutions to my issues with fatigue and weight gain and frequent colds & flu.

I've been searching for good information about women's health and fitness choices for years. As I've found good information I've made some diet and lifestyle changes based on my understanding. Along the way I've discovered a huge amount of information that has helped me and helped my family members make health and fitness choices with a positive impact on the quality of our lives.

The most important change for me was this: I literally woke up one day and knew that I wasn't "in the game", but watching my life and telling stories about my life--not really living it. I not only knew the truth, but felt it strongly: If my life was going to change for the better, I was the only one who could make that happen. No more dragging my feet...I'm dancing now.
